Eric began his technology career in 1999, and came to SCC after administering the network at Thrivent Financial in Minneapolis. His background includes education in networking at Brown College, as well as a raft of certifications including Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), IBM Server Consolidation assessment methodology, WatchGuard Certified System Professional (WCSP) and more. He combines his education and experience with a thoughtful approach to planning his technical work, which yields great results for clients.
As part of SCC’s technical project team, Eric installs, configures and tests a wide variety of technology. In fact, Eric was selected as part of an elite group of Microsoft engineers in 2007, when he worked directly with Microsoft as one of fifteen tests of Microsoft Small Business Server 2008. He has built lasting friendships with the Microsoft developers in Redmond, Washington, who created Small Business Server, and who had high respect for Eric's work and talent.
Of all the technologies Eric works with, his favorite is WatchGuard’s XTM security appliances (firewalls). “I like working with WatchGuard products. They truly raise the bar when it comes to network security.”
But it’s not all gadgets for Eric. The relationships matter, too. “At SCC, our team atmosphere allows me to really depend on and work with great people.” His favorite part of his job? “I get the opportunity to learn about many different clients’ business models and the products that they produce. After learning about them, it’s fulfilling to be able to make recommendations that will help them use technology more efficiently.”
