Shawn has worked in the IT industry since 1996, and is SCC’s resident lifer – he has worked here since 1997 and we’re glad he’s around! Not only does Shawn bring rich education, including an Associates Degree and a variety of Microsoft certifications, he also brings the kind of work experience that make him an exceptional resource for his coworkers and our clients.
Today, Shawn is focused almost exclusively on work with Microsoft SharePoint. In fact, Shawn wrote the book on how small and medium-sized organizations get started with SharePoint. Think we’re kidding? His methodology for deploying SharePoint quickly and effectively gained so much traction with other Microsoft partner companies that Microsoft ultimately bought it from us, and now uses Shawn’s work to teach Microsoft partners worldwide how to start a SharePoint business. No small feat! In fact, part of Shawn’s job is to help other Microsoft partners consult about and deliver SharePoint for their clients.
Shawn becomes a trusted advisor for every client he works with. “I like being able to empower clients with the knowledge they need to use technology without feeling embarrassed about the things they don’t know how to do. Technology is a tool for them to get their work done, it’s not their primary job responsibility. If I can help them with their problem or solution, and help them feel comfortable while doing it, and maybe even have some laughs, that feels like a win to me.”
