Like many on the SCC team, Kevin Anderson didn’t originally plan to work in the technology industry…but it turned out to be a great match for his talents and interests.
After high school, Kevin enrolled at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minnesota, to study theatre. Somewhere along the road, though, Kevin also earned certifications in Microsoft Windows client operating systems, Microsoft Dynamics GP, and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 networking. He is currently studying for his certification in Windows Server 2008 Active Directory.
Having worked in IT for over eight years, including at a local Microsoft Dynamics partner before joining SCC, Kevin has worked in positions ranging from phone support, consulting, IT management and now, at SCC, as a service center and field technician. Since joining SCC, Kevin has expanded his work with clients to include project implementations, as well…and it’s the client work that presents the most creative opportunity for Kevin. “My favorite thing about working with clients is finding a way to use technology to meet their needs in a way they hadn’t thought of before.”
Each of our technical team has a favorite technology. For some, they like how it helps them do their technical work. For others, like Kevin, they are excited about the technology’s potential to help clients. “I think SharePoint is one of the most powerful and underused technologies that we provide for clients. I’m excited to help more of them learn about how it will help their businesses communicate and collaborate.”
Kevin demonstrates his focus on building strong relationships every day…with clients and with coworkers. “I enjoy the sense of team at SCC. If anyone has a problem, there is a great group of people to back them up.” We’re lucky that group includes Kevin, too.
